DeMarcus Henry
GRASSROOTS DIRECTOR
Coach DeMarcus Henry serves as the Basketball Director for the NOVA Bulls, where he leads the organization’s basketball operations, player development philosophy, and competitive programming. A former NCAA Division I collegiate basketball player, Coach Henry brings firsthand experience competing at the highest levels of the game and applies that knowledge to developing the next generation of athletes.
With more than 15 years of coaching experience across the state of Virginia, including both the Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads regions, Coach Henry has built a reputation for developing fundamentally sound, disciplined, and confident players. Throughout his career in AAU basketball, he has worked with athletes at multiple stages of development, helping them strengthen their skills, elevate their basketball IQ, and compete with confidence in increasingly competitive environments.
In addition to his AAU coaching experience, Coach Henry has served as Head Coach for both the Boys and Girls Basketball Programs at Unity Braxton Reed Middle School, where he has played an important role in guiding young student-athletes during critical stages of their athletic and personal development. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, accountability, teamwork, and leadership—values that help athletes succeed not only on the court but in school and in their communities.
As Basketball Director of the NOVA Bulls, Coach Henry oversees the organization’s training standards, coaching development, and long-term player growth model. He works closely with coaches, trainers, and families to ensure every athlete in the program receives high-quality instruction, structured development, and meaningful competitive opportunities that prepare them for middle school, high school, and advanced levels of play.
Beyond the court, Coach Henry remains deeply committed to mentoring young athletes and strengthening the basketball community. Through his leadership, he has helped create an environment where players are challenged to grow as competitors, develop confidence in their abilities, and learn the discipline and character required to succeed both in sports and in life.
His leadership, experience, and dedication to youth development have earned the trust of families, players, and fellow coaches across Virginia. Through the NOVA Bulls program, Coach Henry continues to build a culture focused on player development, competitive excellence, and positive mentorship for the next generation of athletes.
